We are currently hiring for two positions. HIV West Yellowhead has received funding to expand our programming in the region by hiring a Client Support & Outreach Worker. This position will be based out of Edson. There is not currently an office space in Edson so for the time being all office and administration work will be done from home. The Outreach Worker will work in street, home office and various community based locations in Hinton, Edson and Whitecourt. This position requires flexibility and willingness to travel, work outdoors, including inclement weather conditions, occasional evenings and weekends. The position also requires ability to work with challenging populations and with limited supervision. Some tasks as Outreach Worker will be to build and maintain community partnerships, support client needs, advocacy, engage volunteers, coordinate fundraising activities, and implement a safe needle disposal program.
We are also once again hiring a Summer Programmer. Qualified applicants must have attended a post secondary institution during the 2013-2014 school year and be registered as a full-time student in the 2014-2015 academic year and be legally entitled to work in Canada. This position is based in Jasper. The Summer Programmer will conduct our Safe is Sexy positive community norms campaign as well as volunteer activities, prevention and education initiatives, fundraising, and evaluation.
